Following initial tests, I am happy to post a new version of the Satellite CCRMA memory card image for Raspberry Pi 2. Over the past years, since the beginning of this project in 2010, musicians have been using the Satellite CCRMA images to build embedded instruments and sound art installations around the world.

For patches running in Pure Data, the amount of DSP that can be computed is much greater due to advancements in the microprocessor architecture. For more information, please see the Satellite CCRMA Project Page.

This image can also be used for creating Embedded Acoustic Instruments.

Due to the large number of citations of the original Satellite CCRMA paper, this work has been selected for inclusion in the upcoming NIME Reader book. Without the Satellite CCRMA image, it is not possible for musicians to easily create novel embedded instruments without getting distracted by programming details.
