Etude Pour un Ordinateur Seul

I wrote a piece of music using both the Computer Bending and Circuit Vacuuming techniques.
First the listener hears sounds of a MacBook Pro booting up, then the computer runs the SETI program for a while, and then the computer is shut down again.
The piece was created by placing twenty-four telephone coils beneath the laptop and recording the signals. An eight-channel mix of the composition was created by selecting eight of some of the most interesting channels recorded. There is no stereo version for this, but the eight-channel version can be downloaded:
